Utah Catering in the Summer

As the seasons change, so do the types of events for Utah catering. The winter brings holidays parties both for families and businesses. Fall time catering is often wedding with rich autumn tones of red, purple and orange. Often our fall time events include soups and our popular comfort food Sunday Dinner menu (braised pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy). In the spring, our events often have the risk of rain, which can put a wedding party under some stress. But more often than not, the sun shines through and the day continues on as planned, if not even better. Summertime events have us excited about dusting off our big commercial grill and looking forward to in season fruit. What on earth is better than a watermelon in July?! Nothing.

Barbecue

Of course, summer means barbecue and with Utah catering, that is especially true. Many of our summer events, whether it’s a wedding or corporate event, include sticky sweet barbecue. It’s always a treat to see a bride in her white gown, smacking her lips around some tritip steak or barbecue ribs. Get it girl! When we serve barbecue, we make sure the side dishes are as a delicious as the meats. We love doing homemade mac and cheese, coleslaw, cornbread, potato salad or some macaroni salad. The sides are just as important as the barbecue!

Light Summertime Fare

When we do events in the fall and winter, the menus tend to be more along the lines of comfort food. Braised meats, rich gravies and fluffy mashed potatoes. But the summer brings fresh produce that we don’t get to see in those cold winter months. Our fresh seasonal fruit offerings start looking bright and vibrant. Strawberries, watermelon and honeydew…. So pretty on any Utah catering buffet. Often our summertime menus include a variety of light salads, like strawberry spinach salad with candied walnuts and sweet balsamic vinaigrette or Thai chicken salad with peanut dressing. And everyone loves garden vegetable pasta salad with red wine vinaigrette.
