For Costco employees, Labor Day is a good day because Costco is closed! And because Costco is such a great company, they host an end-of-summer picnic for their employees to say thank you for working so hard. This year, the Orem Costco and the Lehi Costco combined forces and hosted the picnic together. It was our pleasure to do some corporate catering and cater their picnic and provide them with delicious eats as they relaxed and enjoyed a day off.
The menu was a smoked meat spectacular! Thanks to the commercial smoker at our kitchen, we were able to provide smoked brisket, smoked pulled pork and smoked chicken legs. It was as good as it sounds. For sides dishes, they wanted macaroni and cheese, potato salad, mesquite-style corn and fresh rolls. It was a classic, all-American, comfort food feast.
The event was held at the Scera Park in Orem, which is one of the best parks in Utah County. And if you haven’t ever been to the Scera Shell Outdoor Theater for a play or a concert, you should put that on your Bucket List. It is sure to be one of the most delightful evenings you will have all summer.
It was such a pleasure to cater for a company that plays a big role in our business. There are a few products we use from Costco that are higher quality than anywhere else. For example, their meats are some of the highest quality you can buy. And the guys in the meat department are always willing to set aside large quantities for us. Costco makes wedding, private and corporate catering in Utah much easier.
